The BlindShell Classic Lite talking cell phone has been designed specifically for a visually impaired person. It is a simpler, more pared down version of our very popular BlindShell Classic phone. It offers all of the essential functions of a phone, without any of the fancier applications that might make it too complicated for some users. This allows users to stay connected with friends and loved ones, without features that might distract them.
BlindShell Classic Lite still features a large, tactile talking keypad and a large customizable display screen. Large keys with ample spacing on the keyboard make it easier to use than most smartphones and smaller flip phones. All features, keys, and commands on the phone are spoken. Basic features include dialing, SMS texting, contact book, and speed dialing. It also includes a few simple applications such as a calculator, notes, alarm clock, calendar, timer and stop watch. The digital screen can be customized with different color schemes and font sizes, allowing a user to create the best viewing combination for their personal needs. A special SOS button on the phone can be activated by a three second push and will dial a pre-set emergency contact. This SOS button can provide peace of mind for both the user and family members.
This is an unlocked GSM phone. Due to tightening restrictions in the US, it currently will only work if the user has a previously activated SIM card from an AT&T or a T Mobile phone plan. That SIM card can be installed in the BlindShell, and the phone service will be active.
