The first cane I love
I have had several other telescoping guide canes. One was a very thin, flimsy carbon fiber cane that broke easily from normal use. None of them stayed extended during any use. One of them that was fiberglass and had amazing ceramic tips broke the first week, but remained usable. Over the next year, cracks started appearing, and eventually the tip fell out and got lost. When I saw this cane advertised, I was immediately interested because of the words "titanium" and "locking". By the time I finished reading the description, I had to buy one just to verify the amazing legend they wrote about it. I was not disappointed. This cane is durable, locks completely until a button on the handle is pressed, and collapses securely, with no wobble. The engineering of the locking buttons is genius. It's simple mechanical operations that have common sense. The handle is hand-sized for almost everyone, and smaller when it's collapsed than most 7-section folding canes. The two tips that come with the cane are heavy duty metal, and screw-type. The best thing is that the threaded bottom section has a kind of ratcheting function that doesn't let the tip get turned too tight. But it also doesn't let it just work loose in use! I showed it to a martial arts friend of mine, and he pointed out something I hadn't noticed. Partially extended, this cane is great for self-defense, as a thrusting baton. He said, "I wouldn't want to cross you in a dark alley with this thing." I feel like Daredevil... Thanks for my new superpowers, LS&S!!
